689cc CP2 engine with high torque
The R7 motorcycle's 689cc CP2 engine produces 73.4 hp at 8750 rpm, offering thrilling acceleration and instant throttle response. The 270-degree crankshaft allows for uneven firing intervals, delivering a lively and exciting feel as the revs rise – while linear torque delivery enables effective power use for faster corner exits.
6-axis inertial measurement unit developed for the R1 model
For the first time in history, the R7 features Yamaha's 6-axis IMU, derived from the R1. Race-class technology that brings true supersport intelligence to the middleweight class. It continuously measures pitch, roll, and yaw angles, driving the R7's advanced electronic rider aids to deliver precision, confidence, and control through every corner.
Yamaha Ride Control with adjustable settings
Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) allows riders to adjust the R7's character to suit their mood or the moment. Three factory modes – Sport, Street, and Rain – are complemented by two fully customizable settings via the MyRide app, allowing riders to fine-tune power delivery and electronic support.
Driver aids, sensitive to tilt, including wheel slip prevention systems, traction control, and brake control
Wheel slip prevention, traction control, and cornering brake control seamlessly integrate with the R1-based R7 Inertial Measurement Unit, continuously monitoring motion and grip. Each system intervenes subtly and predictably, enhancing stability and allowing riders to push their boundaries on road or track with complete confidence.
More robust and agile chassis
Almost every element of the new R7 frame has been refined, from tube routing and wall thickness to reinforcement points to improve stiffness while maintaining the same weight. Its 41mm fully adjustable inverted forks are now equipped with lightweight aluminum stanchions, reducing weight for a stronger response and precise, agile handling.
Refined, more comfortable riding position
Renovated ergonomics make everyday life easier with the new R7. The relocated handlebars and redesigned fuel tank give you more room to move, while the lower 830mm seat and R1-style footpegs provide a sense of stability and relaxation – whether you're commuting to work, cornering, or returning home after a long ride.
Power modes, launch control, and front wheel lift control
Three selectable power modes let you tailor throttle response from smooth to sporty performance, while lift control manages front-wheel lift under strong acceleration to maintain complete control when pushing the limits. A race-bred launch control system ensures rapid, consistent starts – allowing the R7 to show off its sleek, race-inspired rear to those left behind.
Third generation Quick Shift System (QSS)
Yamaha's latest quick shift system provides faster and smoother gear changes, offering the most fluid and sporty shifting on the R7 to date. Two selectable modes allow for clutchless upshifts and downshifts during acceleration or deceleration, with revised gearbox components ensuring seamless operation on the road or track.
5-inch TFT display with full connectivity
The new 5-inch color TFT display brings a premium, modern feel to the R7. Four selectable themes allow for a clear view of key information, including a dedicated Track mode that highlights key performance information with lap timers when you're on track. Smartphone connectivity via the Yamaha app MyRide adds navigation, notifications, and data sharing so you stay informed, connected, and in control.
Y-TRAC Rev – Feel Like a Racer
The Y-TRAC Rev model R7 app transforms every ride into a MotoGP-like experience based on data. Record lap and sector times, lean angles, speed, and more – then analyze or compare your performance like a professional.
With an optional virtual message board and GPS tracking, the Y-TRAC Rev app provides in-box factory data analysis, so you can drive, review your results, and then race even more passionately.
Refined aerodynamics
The R7's sleeker, slimmer fairing and redesigned front spoiler enhance airflow efficiency and cooling, while accentuating its bold, racing silhouette. Integrated turn signals in the mirrors, as seen on the R9, and a new headlight lens reduce drag, giving the R7 a clean, purposeful look that evokes the premium R Series.
SpinForged Wheels and Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 Tires
The R7 model is the first to use Yamaha's extremely lightweight SpinForged wheels, which reduce overall weight and provide faster, more agile handling. Combined with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tires, which offer exceptional grip and responsiveness for confident and precise cornering, the new R7 model is easier to maneuver and take every turn.
Yamaha Racing Colors on its 70th Anniversary
On its 70th anniversary of operation, the new R7 proudly carries its heritage in a stunning white and red color combination. Inspired by icons from the 90s, it's a captivating blend of nostalgia, style, and absolutely iconic Yamaha design – proof that legends never go out of fashion.
