The Model XSR900 is equipped with a cowl reminiscent of the golden era of 1980s Grand Prix racing, and combined with separate knuckle guards, it not only closely resembles the YZR500 but also enhances speed and acceleration with its additional aerodynamic effect. The color-matched cover on the passenger seat complements the 1980s-style boxy rear racer look.
New 5-inch color TFT display with connectivity
The new 5-inch color TFT display is housed in a retro-styled control panel. You can choose from four display themes to suit different riding experiences, including an analog-style tachometer inspired by vintage racing bikes. For an enriched riding experience, the XSR900 GP comes standard with smartphone connectivity, ensuring you stay up-to-date with information on the go by connecting your smartphone to the bike via the MyRide app.
Premium fully adjustable front and rear KYB suspension
In harmony with the former style and modern technology, the XSR900 GP model boasts the latest suspension technology, including fully adjustable KYB inverted front forks and a linkage-type rear suspension – both optimized for enhanced handling, enabling a sporty riding style.
Newly designed removable control levers and handlebars
The XSR900 GP features a removable handlebar riser mounted above the handlebar, intended to provide a sporty riding position that matches its race-inspired aesthetic. This positions the rider further forward on the motorcycle, increasing front-end load and providing the precise feel expected from race-style machines, while still maintaining sufficient comfort for road riding.
Deltabox-style frame chassis with improved rigidity
Yamaha first introduced the Deltabox frame on Grand Prix race bikes in the 1980s, ushering in a new technology that would shape the future of factory sport motorcycles. The distinctive Deltabox frame remains at the heart of many Yamaha motorcycles today, including the XSR900 GP. To accommodate the XSR900 GP's sportier riding position, the chassis has been tuned to enhance cornering stability and increase the responsiveness of the motorcycle's front end.
Refined saddle, inspired by 80s style, new side covers, and removable seat cover
The newly designed comfortable rider's seat is styled after 1980s and 1990s racing cars. Two enclosed side covers are added under the seat, maintaining the half-covered racing look, and are fastened with racing-style D-rings for quick and easy removal. The seat cover is fitted over the passenger area and can be removed for riding with a passenger.
New style feet and position
The die-cast aluminum footpegs can be adjusted to two positions, higher and lower. The footpeg position has been changed to suit a sportier ergonomics, thus aligning with the new seating position and lowered detachable handlebars.
Yamaha Ride Control YRC and 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit
An advanced 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) based on the R1 model controls an extensive suite of rider aids, including a lean-sensitive traction control, ABS, slide control, and wheelie control, and much more. Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) allows you to set the power unit's output and the intervention level of the rider aids to your preferences and the road conditions. Three preset riding modes, SPORT, STREET, and RAIN, feature factory settings with varying intervention levels suitable for different conditions, complemented by customizable settings in CUSTOM.
Cruise control, third-generation quick-shift system, and A&S clutch
Enjoy a riding experience enhanced by the latest Yamaha technology, including a third-generation Quick Shift System that allows clutchless upshifts during acceleration and downshifts. Cruise control is standard and can be operated with a new intuitive switch, simplifying long-distance riding, while an A&S (assist and slipper) clutch keeps the motorcycle under control during spirited riding.
890cc CP3 engine, with high torque, EU5+ compliant
The high-torque 890cc CP3 engine combined with the light and agile Deltabox chassis is perfect for the sportier riding character of the XSR900 GP. Yamaha forged wheels on Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tires
The XSR900 GP's wheels are made with Yamaha's exclusive spinforging technology and are extremely light, enabling more responsive suspension performance and increasing agility and stability. The XSR900 GP is more responsive, especially during cornering and braking, and allows for maximum grip thanks to Bridgestone's Battlax Hypersport S23 tires.
