The Ténéré 700 is powered by Yamaha's acclaimed 690cc CP2 unit, specifically tuned and equipped for this model. It now features YCC-T electronic throttle, and the 2025 Ténéré 700 introduces a range of features to adapt the riding experience in all conditions, including two ride modes, Sport and Explorer, allowing you to select the best power and torque characteristics for your riding needs. ABS and TCS can be switched off for full control, which is especially useful on unpaved surfaces. No other adventure bike offers such a comprehensive balance of power and control; this is a racing machine engineered to conquer whatever is thrown in its path.

Latest EU5+ 690cc four-stroke CP2 engine

Updated to the latest Ténéré 700 model, the critically acclaimed CP2 engine gains a YCC-T electronic throttle, enabling a range of new features and an improved torque curve. A new air intake and smoother gear shifting are among the updates, while the redesigned external clutch cover provides more legroom in both seated and standing positions.

New racing headlights and body design

The new headlight and body styling honor Yamaha's racing heritage. The silhouette is classic Ténéré, with a tall and vertical front end and a low, light rear end. Every panel has been carefully sculpted to keep weight to a minimum, while the iconic four-LED headlight has also been revamped to offer a fresh, aggressive look, while also improving illumination when riding at night.

Compact and sleek body with a flat seat and a redesigned fuel tank

The Ténéré 700 has been carefully updated to offer even better agility for off-road riding. The new fuel tank has been moved forward and the fuel cap sits lower for improved weight distribution, while the slimmer body shape allows for better knee grip for maximum control on all types of surfaces. This is complemented by a new flat, race-styled seat that is narrow and allows for easy weight shifting.

Cross tube steel frame

Well tested in the Yamaha rally raid program, the durable tubular steel frame combines strength and lightness. The combination of a short wheelbase and narrow gaiter allows for an agile motorcycle with plenty of clearance, while the high suspension provides 240 mm of ground clearance for tackling challenging terrain.

Upgraded long-travel suspension

A high riding position and 240 mm of ground clearance, the Ténéré 700 features a high-quality, long-travel suspension. The 43 mm stanchion, flex-resistant front forks are now fully adjustable, and for 2025, they feature a new preload adjuster. The rear end boasts an updated, fully adjustable rear shock absorber with a piggyback reservoir, designed to work in perfect harmony with the front suspension to enhance performance even in the most demanding conditions.

Electronic throttle and driving modes

YCC-T offers two ride modes, allowing you to select the throttle map that best suits your riding style. Sport provides the most responsive throttle response, while Explorer delivers smoother power transfer.

Switchable ABS and TCS at the push of a button

For complete off-road control, both ABS and traction control can be completely deactivated at the touch of a button. ABS features three settings that can be selected via a dedicated button in the cockpit or by using the new switch via the TFT display menu. In addition to full on or off, ABS can be deactivated on the rear wheel only, allowing you to use the rear brake and throttle for steering on loose surfaces while still benefiting from ABS on the front wheel.

6.3-inch color TFT display with connectivity and navigation

The large 6.3-inch color TFT display accentuates the Ténéré 700's premium design and offers two distinct theme options, allowing you to focus on information in a way that best suits your riding style, while smartphone connectivity unlocks a range of features, including integration for phone calls, music, and turn-by-turn navigation via the MyRide app. A USB-C charging port is also standard equipment.

21-inch wire-spoke wheels front and 18-inch rear

Just like Yamaha's race rally motorcycles, the Ténéré 700 is equipped with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, combining low weight with exceptional strength and outstanding impact resistance. For high levels of grip and durability on both dirt and road, these spoked aluminum wheels are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.

Off-road driving components

Details matter on the 2025 Ténéré 700. As the most durable adventure motorcycle you can buy, components have been updated to improve off-road usability without compromising on-road performance. Larger footpegs and a one-piece race-style seat aid rider control on loose surfaces, while a revised side-stand switch, durable handguards, and engine protection offer extra resilience against inevitable knocks and bumps.

New intuitive switch system

Ergonomically designed for ease of use and now equipped with a five-way joystick, the new switch clusters offer more functionality than those on the previous Ténéré 700 generation, allowing for easy and intuitive scrolling through numerous features. The turn signals are also updated, with new functions on the left switch cluster: three-flash signaling or continuous indicators with auto-cancel.

A factory-discounted version is available

The Ténéré 700 is also available in a lower seat height version, available directly from the factory. With 20 mm less suspension travel front and rear, and a shortened side stand, this version has a seat height of 860 mm and retains the dominant seating position, while opening up the Ténéré experience to those who desire a lower seat height.
