The newly developed 450cc backward-inclined cylinder engine produces higher levels of powerful and consistent power, while being lighter and faster than ever before. The enduro-specific ECU and 5-speed transmission with long gear ratios ensure greater performance and good traction at very different speeds – and the redesigned Power Tuner app allows for easier selection of the appropriate map for complete control in changing track conditions and various weather conditions.
The WR450F, equipped with a completely new aluminum chassis, offers a more compact and agile feel. Its extremely slim and seamless bodywork and flatter seat provide faster and easier weight transfer for excellent maneuverability. The class-leading KYB suspension has been lowered by 10mm and features updated settings for improved cornering performance at low speeds.

Next-generation aggregate based on the YZ450F model
Sometimes, there's no substitute for power. The lighter, next-generation 450cc 4-stroke engine is the most powerful and advanced engine ever used on a Yamaha enduro motorcycle. The forward-facing intake and rearward-inclined cylinder help deliver more power at all RPMs, giving you the confidence to leave the competition behind.
Air intake system with greater efficiency
The unique forward-facing intake system design of the WR450F allows its 450cc engine to perform with exceptional efficiency at any RPM. The straight intake port feeds air directly to the 39mm intake valves, providing immediate throttle response for instant acceleration.
Coil spring clutch for enduro
To handle the increased power of the new generation 450cc engine, Yamaha engineers have developed a durable and compact one-piece steel clutch with a Belleville spring, contributing to reduced weight and ensuring the narrowest possible engine width. With an optimized, enduro-spec design, the tough new clutch provides a light lever pull and precise feel – and is built to withstand extreme enduro riding conditions.
Lightweight 5-speed gearbox with a long gear ratio
To meet the demands of the most challenging enduro conditions, the WR450F model operates with a specially designed 5-speed gearbox with long gear ratios. Power gears ensure that this durable gearbox is the perfect choice for technical and high-speed sections.
New compact aluminum chassis
The WR450F's new aluminum frame is derived from the latest YZ450F, which boasts an exceptional MXGP and Supercross race-winning record. The rigidity of the twin-spar frame is optimized, allowing for controlled levels of flex to improve shock absorption. Fitted with enduro-specific engine mounts, the WR450F's revised chassis provides rigidity for improved feel and feedback.
Shorter and more compact armor
Yamaha's design team has completely revised the bodywork, ensuring the new WR450F looks more compact than ever, and feels that way to ride. The shrouds are 50mm narrower, and the central section of the motorcycle is also much slimmer. Together with the flatter seat, this new bodywork provides improved rider mobility. The new design of the fenders and side covers gives a completely fresh look while emphasizing the motorcycle's extreme compactness and agile feel.
Upgraded KYB suspension
The WR450F is equipped with premium KYB Speed Sensitive System front forks and a lightweight rear shock – with enduro-specific suspension settings – for excellent feel and feedback. Front and rear suspension travel is reduced by 10mm compared to motocross models, lowering seat height and center of gravity for improved low-speed control. The front forks are also equipped with a manually adjustable compression damping mechanism.
Revamped Power Tuner App
The revitalized Power Tuner app features a »Quick Tuning« function that allows you to easily select any engine setting, from »mild« to »aggressive« running modes. A FAQ section is also available, explaining the most effective way to choose the best setting for the engine and suspension based on conditions, as well as a wide range of suggested settings.
Improved ergonomics
The WR450F is a motorcycle designed to provide unparalleled control. The rider triangle, created by the relationship between a flatter seat, footpeg placement, and handlebar position, offers total ergonomics for easier rider mobility, allowing you to quickly change your body position and shift your weight for optimal control when braking, accelerating, or cornering.
Comprehensive specification, ready for enduro
The WR450F model is fully prepared for enduro and features an 18-inch rear wheel, enduro tires, lighting, instrumentation, dedicated ECU control, and a radiator fan. The fuel tank capacity is 7.4 liters, and the airbox is accessible without tools. The enduro specification is further complemented by engine protection and an enduro muffler.
