The YZ65 motorcycle was built to the same high standards as Yamaha's adult racing motocross line. A powerful 65cc liquid-cooled 6-speed engine features Yamaha's YPVS for race-winning power, while a lightweight semi-double cradle steel frame and aluminum subframe provide stable handling and excellent agility.
Adjustable 36 mm inverted front forks and a non-link Monocross rear suspension provide stable handling on rough terrain, while the adjustable handlebar position allows the YZ65 to grow with you. With wave-style disc brakes for powerful stopping, a long, padded seat, grippy footpegs for a more comfortable ride, and new YZ series graphics and updated Icon Blue bodywork, the YZ65 will take you to the winner's circle.
FEATURES
Optimal power for simple use
With a lively 65cc engine and liquid cooling, it's one of the most advanced in its class and features an intake reed valve system within the crankcase, based on racing experience, which allows for better throttle response. A key feature is the race-bred YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System), which provides exceptional torque characteristics, making the YZ65 the ideal bike for young riders.
Lightweight and stable handling
The Model YZ65 features a semi-double cradle steel frame incorporating an aluminum subframe, providing lightweight and stable handling as well as agility. To absorb the harshest impacts, this class-leading motocross bike is equipped with 36mm KYB Speed Sensitive System (SSS) inverted front forks, an aluminum swingarm, and a linkage-less Monocross rear suspension system. Together, these main components offer exceptional chassis stability and consistent lap times.
6-speed transmission, easy to use
The 6-speed gearbox boasts carefully selected gear ratios, specifically designed to allow the rider to achieve better lap times by fully utilizing the power of the 65cc engine. Yamaha engineers have also developed clutch springs and plates that provide a light and easy clutch lever.
Confident howling
36mm KYB Speed Sensitive System inverted front forks confirm that the YZ65 also features the same race-proven design as other YZ models. With their excellent rigidity, they offer a truly stable front-end feel for confident cornering, and their long-travel tubes are designed for smooth riding over the biggest bumps.
Seamless and stable driving
Drivers of the YZ65 can rely on the fact that in addition to the front forks, the Monocross rear suspension system is designed for smooth, stable riding and to prevent bottoming out during suspension compression, even on the roughest tracks. A lightweight aluminum swingarm enhances suspension performance and provides additional comfort, featuring a linkage-free design that reduces routine maintenance needs.
Adapt the YZ65 model to your height
Young riders grow fast, and so the YZ65 model features an aluminum handlebar clamp with four different handlebar positions, allowing for a total of 27 mm of forward/backward adjustability to suit your size and riding style. As with the larger YZ models, tapered handlebar grips are also standard equipment, providing the ideal balance between suspension compliance and exceptional power.
Complete control in your hands
Correct body positioning is crucial for ensuring complete control over the YZ65, as well as for winning, which is why the seat is designed to allow you to shift your weight forward and back to keep your position suited to changing conditions. The shroud covers are also designed to allow the rider to move freely, making it easy to move around the motorcycle and achieve a winning ride.
