All the features that make the MT-09 a leader in its class have been taken to the next level with the introduction of Y-AMT. Feel the MT-09's character more strongly than ever, focus on adrenaline-pumping acceleration and exceptionally precise handling with gear changes enabled by sports and smooth manual (MT) or fully automatic (AT) shifting. Furthermore, the smart key system, embodying the top-class specifications of the MT-09 Y-AMT, allows you to start riding immediately and effortlessly if the smart key is within a certain range, for example, in your pocket.

Next-generation armor and aggressive styling
The next generation of Hyper Naked design, embodying the »less is more« approach, takes the MT-09 to the next level with an aggressive yet minimalist cowl. The bifunctional LED headlight is integrated into the cowl, creating a compact and unified connection with the newly designed fuel tank, which calls for a slightly forward-leaning riding position for a more immersive experience, while retaining the striking and bold look synonymous with the MT.
Latest EU5+ compliant 890cc CP3 engine
An exceptional liquid-cooled 3-cylinder engine is lightweight and powerful, delivering more torque at low revs. The sonic harmony from the combination of induction and exhaust sound gives the CP3 engine a distinctive growl, enhancing the feeling of acceleration. Fuel injectors increase efficiency, while optimized gear ratios and a refined A&S slipper clutch ensure the engine's high output. associated with the MT-09 motorcycle. Headphones are not included.
Sound enhancement mask for a better driving experience
One of the most distinctive features of the MT-09 motorcycle is its roar, which brings a smile to your face and sparks a feeling of pure adrenaline with every twist of the throttle. The MT-09 model features specially designed air intake ducts that highlight high-frequency sounds, particularly at higher speeds, amplified by the sound booster cowl on top of the fuel tank, thereby transferring the liveliness of the CP3 engine directly to you.
Six-axis IMU with Electronic Stability Control
A compact six-axis inertial measurement unit, developed from the R1 model, powers the MT-09's high-tech rider aids, including a three-mode traction control system (TCS), slide control system (SCS), lift control system (LIF), and brake control system. This cutting-edge technology also incorporates a back-slide control (BSR) which, by controlling the level of torque produced, ensures stabilization when the rear wheel locks up from over-braking.
Adaptive ride modes with Yamaha Ride Control settings
Customize your ride experience with Yamaha Ride Control (YRC), which works in conjunction with Y-AMT, allowing you to select the characteristics of the power unit and the level of electronic intervention according to your preferences and road conditions. Three integrated riding modes are programmed with factory settings to suit different situations: SPORT, STREET and RAIN; however, you can also create two custom programs to suit your individual preferences. YRC settings can be adjusted directly on the dashboard menu or on your smartphone via the MyRide app.
Lightweight aluminum pressure die-casting
A compact die-cast aluminum frame (controlled filling) offers a modern take on the iconic Deltabox design, providing high chassis rigidity for exceptional rider response and stability. An optimized swingarm pivot structure, along with a light and elegant chassis, delivers a more relaxed feel, making the MT-09 the perfect partner for short and long rides.
Adjustable suspension and latest generation tires
Fully adjustable 41mm front forks have optimized settings to match the character of the compact and extremely rigid frame, ensuring excellent stability and a smoother, more controlled ride. The adjustable rear suspension has multiple settings and a redesigned mechanism for a more dynamic steering feel.
Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 M tires, fitted to Yamaha's SpinForged wheels, offer good grip and lighter handling, allowing you to make the most of high-torque acceleration.
Brembo radial master cylinder
Due to the high torque and acceleration of the MT-09 model, braking power is increased with a Brembo radial master cylinder, which provides linear hydraulic pressure to the four-piston brake calipers mounted on 298mm dual front discs, enabling exceptional braking performance and fingertip control.
5-inch color TFT display with connectivity and navigation
The 5-inch color TFT instrument panel allows you to choose from four different themes to suit your individual needs and driving conditions, which you can navigate with intuitive handlebar controls.
You can also connect your smartphone to the TFT display via the free MyRide app to receive notifications for messages, calls, and listen to music*. Navigation with full maps is also available through the free Garmin StreetCross app, making every journey easier.
You need Bluetooth headphones connected to the MT-09 motorcycle. Headphones are not included.
Intuitive switch, automatic turn signal shut-off, and emergency stop signaling (ESS)
The handlebar's integrated switch clusters allow control of a wide range of the MT-09's features, including smartphone connectivity, navigation, and riding modes, as well as exploring additional menu options.
The intuitive turn signal functions further enhance the driving experience. With a light press of the indicator switch, the turn signals flash three times, which is useful when changing lanes, and a full press of the switch activates continuous flashing. The turn signals automatically turn off after 15 seconds and once the motorcycle has traveled more than 150 meters. The Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function responds to sudden braking by activating the turn signals.
