Aluminum frame made of double-sided beams
The latest generation of the YZ250F uses the same frame design as the MXGP-winning YZ450F. The improved handling of this lightweight aluminum bilateral beam frame allows you to corner faster and more smoothly. Thanks to a lower center of gravity and reduced weight, the YZ250F is more agile than ever—while the rigidity balance and YZ250F-specific engine mounts provide plenty of feel and feedback.
Optimized driver ergonomics
The driver's triangle ensures the comfort of drivers of various sizes and builds, as it provides better ergonomics with improved mobility for the driver and greater control. The side covers create a sleeker and lighter look, while the front fender improves airflow to the radiators for consistent cooling.
Responsive peak power
The YZ250F is already considered one of the most competitive and responsive 250cc 4-stroke motorcycles in the low to mid RPM range. The latest rear air scoop air management system, together with the ECU unit, improves the high-end performance of the engine, making this Motocross Grand Prix-winning motorcycle even more competitive for every rider.
Effective air management
The high-revving engine's performance is winning praise from the media and owners alike, and the width of the fairing is narrow thanks to an efficient air management system that directs fresh air from the rear through the spaces between the fuel tank, frame, seat, and side covers. Upon reaching the lightweight airbox, the air is pre-cleaned by a vortex that deflects particles to the side, reducing air filter clogging and making routine maintenance easier.
Improved suspension settings
The KYB front forks of the YZ250F are generally considered among the best in their class, and the latest-generation motorcycle features revised fork settings and a hand-adjustable compression damping mechanism. The Monocross rear suspension with linkage and a KYB shock with the latest linkage design for improved traction when exiting corners feature revised settings—and the Power Tuner app includes useful suspension setting data for quick and precise manual adjustments.
Custom exhaust to comply with FIM regulations
The YZ250F exhaust system has been modified to comply with the latest FIM noise regulations while maintaining the motorcycle's renowned controlled power and rideability characteristics.
Low-friction chain assembly
The YZ250F's rearward-slanting cylinder head features a low-friction cam chain assembly designed to match the increased high-rpm power.
Light components
Yamaha's designers focused on weight reduction wherever possible while maintaining the reliability and durability of the YZ250F model. The significant weight reduction is intended to improve the power-to-weight ratio and handling.
Advanced traction and launch control systems
The 2026 YZ250F model is equipped with the latest electronic technologies that allow you to achieve the highest level of control. The launch control system allows you to set the maximum engine speed for starting when the gate drops, for the ultimate in winning performance. The traction control system offers two levels of assistance and an off function.
Anti-theft ECU locking device
The ECU locking function allows the rider to lock the motorcycle via smartphone, and the engine cannot be restarted until the password is correctly entered into the phone. The function provides an excellent anti-theft system for a motorcycle without a physical key.
