With its new look for 2025, R-series fans will immediately recognize the new R3 as a genuine Yamaha supersport, featuring its striking new dual-eye look that includes powerful integrated headlights and LED position lights. These flank an M1-inspired air duct positioned above new aerodynamic winglets.
The multi-function LCD instrument panel and smartphone connectivity open up a world of information about the R3 model via the MyRide app, while high-quality 37 mm upside-down front forks ensure precise suspension feel and feedback on every ride. Meanwhile, the narrower ergonomic profile makes it easier to put your feet on the ground.

With next-generation R-series styling inspired by the R9 road flagship and the R1 GYTR and RACE racing models, this is the sharpest and most refined R3 ever built. Featuring an M1-style central air duct flanked by sleek dual-lens headlights with LED position lights, and aerodynamic winglets, the R3 is a true R-series supersport machine.
Aerodynamic integrated winglets
Aerodynamic efficiency on the R3 has been raised to a higher level with integrated winglets located beneath the M1-style air duct, setting a new standard in the lightweight supersport motorcycle category. Airflow is now rapidly directed around the sleek new full fairing and upward toward the rear of the R-series for a race-inspired aerodynamic effect.
Dual-lens headlights and position lights
The front of the R3 model exudes the next-generation DNA of the R-series. With powerful projector headlights and strong LED position lights integrated into the sleek new fairing design, the R3 exudes style and sophistication.
Slim ergonomic profile
The new slim, ergonomic profile of the R3 model boasts a narrower overall seat width and thinner side panels. This makes it even easier for the rider to put their feet on the ground and feel completely in control at every stop.
New A&S clutch
The premium specification of the R3 model includes an Assist & Slipper clutch, which gives the rider maximum control under hard braking while preventing engine over-revving and rear-wheel hop, resulting in more predictable and manageable handling.
Smartphone connectivity via the MyRide app
Smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth opens up a new world of data and information about your R3, while also enabling call, message, and email notifications on the multi-function LCD instrument screen. After each ride, you can check riding statistics, important engine information, and route tracking data available through the MyRide app.
High-output 321 cc EURO5+ engine
Featuring an 11.2:1 compression ratio, double overhead camshafts (DOHC), and a four-valve cylinder head, the 321 cc twin-cylinder engine is designed for quick operation and high-RPM efficiency. With a maximum power output of 30.9 kW (42 hp) at 10,750 rpm, the R3 engine offers thrilling acceleration and a wide power band, ensuring an exciting ride.
High-quality suspension
The R3 is equipped with 37 mm KYB inverted front forks that provide optimal front-end feel. Whether you are riding through the streets or chasing lap times on the track, the R3's perfect balance of shock absorption and handling stability gives the rider maximum feedback and confidence.
Strong braking performance
The 298 mm floating front brake disc surface provides excellent stopping power with plenty of feedback at the lever, while the 220 mm floating disc handles braking performance at the rear. With the ABS anti-lock braking system, the R3 can be ridden with confidence, even when grip is reduced in wet or slippery conditions.
Multifunction LCD instrumentation
The new LCD instrument cluster complements the race-inspired cockpit of the R3 and displays key riding and vehicle information. In addition, when a smartphone is connected via Bluetooth and the MyRide app, it can also display call, message, and email notifications on the screen.
